Napper, a member of the Royal Flying Corps during >e war, when he went through his course of training at the same time as Captain Kingsford Smith, of whom he is a close friend Mr Napper states that this arrangement was made between Captain Kingsford Smith and himself when Captain Smith passed through Wellington on his way to America. Mr Napper states that Captain Smith promised he would leave Australia for New Zealand about a week after his arrival
