CLAYBIRD CHAMPION NORTH ISLAND CONTEST CLOSE FINISH AT HAMILTON [ Per Pres* Aasoclatlon. 1 HAMILTON, June 8. The North Island claybird shooting championsh'p was won this aiieraoou by Duncan Eraser of Kaiaua (Hauraki Gulf) after a shoot-off with R. Clinch (Huntly) and B. Burgess (Wanganui). The wind was tricky and the conditions 21 rounds off 18 yards. Scores were: Eraser, Clinch and Burgess each 20, E. Groomo (Hawke’s Bay), A. MacCredie (Auckland), W. McMiken (Hamilton), 11. Quaricrman (Taihape), W. Woolven (Hamilton), each 19; P. Dobson (Auckland), J. Amundsen (Matamata), F. Joblin (Gisborne), each 18; H. Belk (Taihape) 17. In the shoot-off Burgess missed at the fifth rouna and dropped out and Clinch missed at the eleventh round. Clinch is J 9 years old.
