“They told me tney kept th? pigs in the dairy,” declared a woman witness vigorously at the Sujreme Court sessions in Wanganui yesterday. (Laughter). “Wei, that Vs the truth, anyway,” added the witness, giving more, force to her statement.
“Aly husband lost £5OO by putting it into the farm,” announced a woman witness at tch V<mganui sessions of the Supreme Court yesterday. “But you’ve still got the farm,” said counsel surprisedly. “It’s still there if that’s what you mean,” replied the witness.
“I should say I am interested in the farm,” declared a witness emphatically at the Wanganui sessions of the Supreme Court yesterday. “But, you’ve got your money out, haven’t yon?” persisted counsel. “No, I have not got my money out, and I’m never likely to,’ ’ replied witness morosely.
When a meat buyer was called as a witness at the Wanganui Supreme Court yesterday, his Honour, Air Justice Reed ,asked wLat the term “meat bnyer” referred to exactly. “This man buys meat for freezing purposes, I think,” explained counsed. “I thought the term was well known.” “I suppose we are all meat buyers to an extent,” remarked his Honour.
The executive for the New Zealand Band Contest, to be held at Wanganui next year, has fijeed the period between February 11 and 16. It is believed that the week arranged will be clear of the racing week. Considerable enthusiasm was shown at the meeting of the executive and everything points to the contest being one of the most successful yet held in New Zealand.
