SHOCKING INJURIES

ACCIDENT ON WHARF , LABOURER RUN OVER BY TRUCK I Per Tress Association 1 OAMAiRU, May 18. When the steamer Wingatui was being loaded this afternoon at the Hplmes Wharf, a railway truck passed over John Bain, a married watersider aged 65, who suffered shocking injuries, both legs being broken. Lt appears that Bain went to remove a sling out of the way when he was struck down by the front truck. Bain was removed to hospital and his right leg was amputated. His condition is critical.
