Cyr on the occasion of their vijil 1 to England. I M. Andre Maurois, in an article con- | corning the visit of the English Sand--1 hurst Cadets to St. Cyr, says that ouo of the most excellent sides of this fraternity between the two schools is mutual participation m the ritual of foreign countries. There is at St. Cyr an English instructor, and at Sandhurst a French one. These men not only l teach the language but prepare tho cadets for their annual visit, to tho [other country, lie quote- the following printed instructions, in addition to that, mentioned above, given at St. Uyr by the English instructor there, before the cadets loft for England on ono occasion: “You will have an orderly. His English will be difficult to understandPerhaps ho is a miner or a foundry worker. You will please him if you ask him questions about his trade aad his native place. Give the hotel porters Is if you are in uniform, 6d if is mufti. “If you arc vulgar enough to go into a public-house do not offer the barmaid a tip, for she is a woman. Besides, some barmaids have married peers 01 the realm. “You will be, received by the. Fif + h Fusiliers. After dinner ask to see theif dog. It is a stuffed dog, but last year came to life in an extraordinary fashion for some moments.”
