INCIDENT AFTER “BETTY” WINS SANDERS CUP
Following on “letty’s” third successive win in the Sanders Cup contest at Stewart Island a well known visitors, prominent in Auckland yachting circles, was asked to propose an iinportant toast at the presentation function. To everybody’s astonishment he declined. It was afterwards ascertained that a particularly severe attack of indigestion during the last week had reduced him to a weak, nervous state —he was really ill.
