WARNING TO COOKS THE AUSTRALIAN DISPUTE. (A. & N.Z.) MELBOURNE, April 20. Chief Justice Detheridge, of the Arbitration Court, to-day warned members of the Marine Cooks’ Union that if they continued to resort to direct : action* he would consider suspending ! or setting aside their award. i He had no doubt that the union was f adopting direct action tactics in the I holding up of the Ulimaroa and other | vessels recently. His Honour agreed to provide for the insertion of a clause in the award prohibiting members of the union from participating in strikes. The owners’ application to set aside the award was adjourned for a week.
