Lid., have received advice that the Dutch Royal Mail Navigation Company s new steamer Nieuw Zeeland wa« to leave 1f v terdam on Tuesday on her maiden vov a e to Australia, via Sumatra. She i- due at oyuney on June 17 and is scheduled to leave Sydney ior tne East on Juiy 21. The Nieuw Zeeland is a sister ship to the Nieuw Holland. Both vessels are 10,000 tons gross and have been built to replace the company s smaller steamers, Houtman and Tasman, in the Australian-Java passenger and cargo service. The dimensions are: Length, 540 ft ; breadth 62.6 ft; laden draught 26ft. Accommodation is provided on each steamer for 123 passengers in single and double-berthed cabins and two cabins de luxe with private bathrooms.
