WELL CARED FOR
AN AMUSING SITUATION FLIERS SHORT OF MONEY. (A. & N.Z.) NEW YORK, April 16. The lighthouse-keeper, a French- Canadian, speaking little or j English, importuned tho fliers to rest and take food. The aviators later reported that they were treated with the utmost hospitality and courtesy ind given every care and attention.
An amusing touch to the situation was given by the fact that the fliers left without money, and Baron Huenfeld thought it necessary to obtain funds immediately. The first wireless request he made to the North German Lloyd was to have the latter telegraph 500 dollars. The Lloyd agent found that none of the telegraph companies could transmit funds, but after many pleas one company undertook to make an effort to telegraph the sum to the nearest station, and, if possible, deliver the money by dog-sledge, but it is hardly likely that delivery will be achieved.
