After successfully competing in the Napier Competitions, Mr A- L. Griffiths, well known in local musical circles, has returned b> Wanganui. Details of his successes are:—First in song with own accompaniment, first in sacred solo, first in humorous song, second in operatic solo, second in Irish song, second in humorous recital, second in best three stories, and third in Scotch song. Mr Griffiths was runner-up to Mr Gordon Madigan, of Wellington for the championship medal. The number of competitors in the men’s vocal classes averaged 13.
