LOCAL AGENTS’ ADVICE. Messrs Millward and Co. advise: The Cowden Law is due at Wanganui about the end of April from Galveston, Texas, via Auckland, Lyttelton and New Plymouth. The Gale loads at Wanganui to-day. After discharge she sails for Wellington, Picton, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Oamaru and Timaru. The Caim loads Dunedin to-day, thence Timaru, Lyttelton. Wellington, and is due Wanganui about sth April. The Storm loads at Lyttelton to-day and is due Wanganui on Wednesday, 4th inst. Messrs Holm and Co. advise:— The Holmdale loads at Dunedin to-day; Oamaru 31st; Timaru April 2; Lyttelton April 3; due here on the sth. The John is due here again on April 3. Messrs Johnston and Co. report:— The Hauturu is due from Onehunga today ; sails the same day for Onehunga; due here again April 5. GENERAL NEWS. SAILINGS FOR SOUT HAFRICA. As many New Zealanders are contemplating making the trip to witness some, if not all, of the games between the New Zealand Rugby football team and the South Africans, it is interesting to note that the Aberdeen, Blue Funnel, and White Star Lines trading to South Africa and England have decided to quote reduced excursion rates during the progress of the tour. The team will leave Sydney on April 21 by the Euripides, which is already a full ship, and will return from Capetown by the Ceramic on September 4. The Anchises will leave Sydney on June 4, and arrive at Durban on July 3, the guevic will leave Sydney on June 26, arrive Durban on July 24, and the Ascaniuc will sail on July 23, and arrive at Durban on August Those travelling by the Anchises will see the second, third and fourth tests, besides some 10 other matches. The suevic passengers will see the third and fourth tests and seven or eight provinvial games, while passengers by the Ascanius will be in time for ’.he final test and one other match. The excursion steamer fares from New Zealand and back to New Zealand, range from £7B to £9B. In addition, the South African hotels and railways are making generous concesi siosn to oversea tourists. I THE OTAKI. Cabled news has been received by the New Zealand Shipping Company that the Otaki arrived at Fremantle on Wednesday from eastern Australian ports. She is to proceed from Fremantle, via Port Said, to Hull, London, Antwerp, Hamburg, an dLiverpool. HURUNUI WITH EXPLOSIVES. The New’ Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Hurunui which is en route from London to Auckland, Dunedin, and Bluff is due at Auckland on April 21.
