WANGANUI EAST CLUB SATURDAY’S GAMES As many members were otherwise engaged there was only a moderate gathering of players on the Wanganui East green last Saturday. Harkness Pairs Last Thursday the weekly game between Wanganui West and Wanganui East for the Harkness pairs was played at Wanganui East, who again scored a win, Anderson, McLaren 24; Anthony, A. Wilson 13. Bowlers who are not engaged in the Centre tournament are reminded that lhe Wanganui East green will bo open for play during the holidays, while on Easter Monday an all day tournament will be held, starting at 9 a.m.; pairs or full rinks, according to number of players, will be played. Bowlers should come prepared for either.

ST. JOHN’S CLUB GREENS ALL OCCUPIED St. John’s green presented an animated appearance on Saturday, every one of the J 4 rinks being occupied. The “Ferns’’ semi-finals were played. resulting in wins for Galbraith’s rink an,d Coonibe’s rink and thees two will light out the final on the first Saturday after Easter. The final of the “ Csingles was a*.so played resulting in a win fur J. Hammond over D. Murdoch. Several of the Easter tourney teams had practice games with each other. Numerous friendly games were played and in addition the Alalc Choir's annual contest for possession of the choir's >,owling rooster took place, resulting in a win for J). Bird and .T. McFarlane. McFarlane (skip) with three wins and no losses will therefore hold the choir “rooster” fill next season. The choir heartily appreciate the kindness of the St. John’s Club in allowing the tourney to be played on their green. The splendid condition of the green, exceptional for this time of the year, was commented on.
THE NIXON CUP WAVERLEY WINS The Nixon Cup was played for on Saturday afternoon on Wanganui West greens, the contenders being three rinks from Waverley. Wanganui West lost on the aggregate.
