AMUSEMENTS AND MEETINGS
SUCCESSFUL HARVEST SALE. A succesful sale was held on Saturday at St. Andrew's Church, and the stalls were almost sold out at the conclusion of the day. In the evening the following supplied a concert programme, which was of unusual merit:—“Ye Banks and Braes," “Sweet and Low/' Choir; song, Mr Wm. Gregg; violin selection, Mr Potter; song, “Down in the Forest," Miss Eaton; male quartette, Messrs Roberton, Healey, Shanks and Wheelan; song. “In the Gloaming," Mr Roberton; elocutionary item, Mrs Darbyshire; “The Auld Hoose" (by request), Choir; pianoforte duet, Mrs Tizard and Miss Vey; song, “Harvest," Mr J Shanks; elocutionary item, Mrs Darbyshire; song, Mr W.
