NEW YORK STOCK EXCHANGE TREMENDOUS STRAIN ON OPERATORS. (A. & N.Z.) NEW YORK, March 23. Slock Exchange sales to-day totalled 3,585,900 shares, making the eleventh consecutive 3,000,000 share day. General Motors was tho sensational feature, adding eight and a-quarter dollars a share and closing at a record for the present shares of 187 J. Traders on the Exchange are beginning to feel the effects of the tremendous strain of the past two weeks, many nearing physical exhaustion during to-day’s session.
