OPOSSUMS ON BANGITOTO | Special “Chronicle” Service. ] AUCKLAND, March 23. The Island of Rangitoto, barren and desolate as it appears from the city, has quite a profitable industry. Opossums established themselves on the island many years ago, and flourished in their rocky home. Last year over £9OO worth of skins was obtained by opossum trappers on Rangitoto, and the Domain Board was made the richer by £3O.
