SUSPICIOUS FIRE

A WELLINGTON CASE INQUIRY PROVES FRUITLESS I Per Press Association. J WELLINGTON, Alarch 23. Further evidence was heard in the Magistrate’s Court to-day in the Fire Board’s inquiry into the circumstances surrounding an outbreak which occurred in rooms occupied by Alfred William Phipps, a tailor, at 80 Willis Street on the night of January 4 last. At the conclusion of the evidence the Alagistratc (Mr E. Pago) said that he thought the logical inference was that the fire had been caused purposely and not accidentally. “I think,” added ALr Page, “that it was caused by some person, but the evidence docs not disclose who it was. ”
