CHOOSING THE STAFF SIX APPOINTMENTS L Special " Chronicle ” Service ] WELLINGTON, Alarch 23. Six of the seven appointments to the staff of the Alassey Agricultural Col lege at Palmerston North have been made. Four of the staff are New Zealanders and the others arc Englishmen. The posts of instructors oi animal physiology, animal husbandry and veterinary science are to be shared between Air E. Asdell, of England, and Mr J. AL Ale Linden, Government vetinarian and instructor iu animal husbandary. Air R. Waters, officer-in-ch arge of the Government biological laboratory, has been appointed instructor in bacteriology, Dr. Dry, of Leeds, is to be the entomologist, Air D. O. Williams, lecturer in economics at Victoria University College, the ecoomist and the botanist is Dr. J. 8. Yeates, who has been engaged in the study of New Zealand flax under the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research for some time past. Air Asdell and Dr Dry are particularly highly qualified mon and of great reputation. The latter has worked abroad, in many investigations and has specialised in the study of wool. , The appointment of chemist is not yet made.
