LOCAL AGENTS’ ADVICE. Messrs Millward and Co. advise: The Gale loaded at Wellington yesterday, and is due Wanganui to-day. The Breeze loaded at Oamaru and Timaru yesterday, thence Lyttelton, Wellington, and is due at Wanganui on Thursday, 22nd inst. The Calm was scheduled to load at Bluff yesterday, and is due at Wanganui on 24th inst, via all southern ports. The Storm will load at Dunedin to-morrow, and is expected at Wanganui on 26th inst. from southern ports and Picton. The Gabriella will sail from Wanganui about the 22nd inst. for Nelson. Messrs Holm and Co. advise: The John loads at Lyttelton to-day; Wellington to-morrow *, due here Thursday; sails for New Plymouth. The Holmdale loads at Dunedin to-snorrow; Ojmaru and Timaru Thursday: Lyttelton Friday; due here Monday. Messrs Johnston and Co. advise: The Inaha is due from Wellington to-day. GENERAL NEWS. CANADIAN HIGHLANDER DUE TO-DAY. The Canadian Highlander was due at Wellington yesterday from Halifax, via Auck- . land, and was to berth at No. 16 Jervois Quay. She will leave there on Thursday morning for Lyttelton, Timaru, Dunedin and Bluff. Boisterous easterly weather was encountered for two days when the vessel was near New Zealand, otherwise during the voyage from Halifax to Auckland the weather was generally fine. Captain P .S. A. Robertson is in command, and the following are his officers:—Chief, Mr W. Johnstone; second, Mr A. J. Melanson; third. Mr R. Ran- , dell; chief engineer, Mr W. Middleton; second Mr J, Mahon; third, Mr P. James; fourth, Mr P. Holden; wireless operator. Mr O. K. Myers; chief steward, Mr S. Knight. MAKURA FROM SAN FRANCISCO. The Union Company’s R.M.S. Makura arrived in the stream at Wellington at 6 a.m. yesterday from San Francisco, via Papeete and Rarotonga. Pratique was granted, p.nd the ship berthed at No. 1 south (outer tee) Queen’s Wharf, at 9 a.m. The Makura sailed from San Francisco on the afternoon of February 22, and arrived at Papeete on March 3. The voyage was resumed on March 4, and the ship arrived at Rarotonga on March 6. After loading fruit, the Makura sailed later in the day for Wellington. Fine weather prevailed throughout the run down the Pacific. The Makura is to sail from Wellington at 5 p.m. to-day for SydMIDDLESEX’S MOVEMENTS. The Federal Company advise that the Mi<lilesex, at present loading at Napier, will leave there on Thursday for Auckland, to fill up. She is now timed to sail finally from Auckland next Monday for New York. Halifax, London, Avonmouth, Glasgow, and Liverpool. TRANSPACIFIC MAIL SERVICES.
