MANAGERS’ REPORTS New Waiotahi. —The mine manager reports that the drive hillward for the Waiotahi-Cainbria reef has been advanced 9ft for the week, making the total length of the crosscut 300 ft. The face of the crosscut has now reached the estimated position of the reef. Alburuia.—The manager reports that the face going north on the dropper was advanced from 175 ft to 138 ft. The reef in the face is maintaining its size, about lbin. in width. The quartz is now’ of a rubbly nature, and of a splendid appearance for making values. The country rock encasing the reef is slightly firmer than that previously worked, and is again showing a fair number of nice mineral seams. Goingsouth on the {Sons of Freedom reef the drive has been extended to 163 ft from the crosscut. The reef is about its average size of 2ft 6in, and a little coarse gold has been seen in the stone broken. Moanataiari. —The manager reports that the drive seaward on- the main reef oil* No. 1 winze has been extended 3ft. a total of 99ft. The reef here averages 3ft wide, and still looks well, carrying a fair amount of bright mineral blend and silica. Colours of gold wore seen in the orc. The drive on the footwall leader off the seaward drive has been extended 4ft, a total of 49ft. The reef here averages 18in. wide, and is a nice body of stone. Strong colours and dabs of gold were seen. The country rock on both walls is of a splendid class for making go<d, being very firm and interlaced with quartz stringers and mineral veins.
