LOSS TO RANGITIKEI

MRS D. G. RIDDIFORD DEAD A POPULAR HOSTESS Wide-spread regret will be felt at the death of the wife of Air D. G. Riddiford, who passed away at their residence, View Halloa, Marton, yesterday, after a short illness. For a number of years Airs Riddiford was prominent in the hunting fields of the Rangitikei district and she has also hunted with the Afanawatu, Hawke’s Bay, Pakuranga and Danncvirke hounds. As hostess at the Rangitikei Hunt’s annual ball, Airs Riddiford carried out her social duties in an exemplary manner and was chiefly responsible for the high standard of this popular function. In social and church life at Alarton she will be greatly missed, for her untiring energy and devotion to any movement for the welfare of the district. The late Mrs Riddiford who was in her 68th year, was a daughter of the late Air John Glennie, of New South Wales.
