OHAKUNE

OBITUARY. MBS GEORGE BUCKLEY. [ Special “ Chronicle. ” Service ] The death has occurred at the Taihape Hospital of Mrs Celia Frances Buckley, aged 67 years, wife of Mr George Buckley, of Ohakuue. The late Mrs Buckley was wellknown and highly respected and much sorrow is felt at her passing. It is understood that she was the first white child to be born on the Wanganui River. For many years she and her husband resided at Ohingaiti and her kindly disposition earned for her a wide circle of friends in that district, and later in Ohakune and Taihape. She leaves four daughters, two sons, 27 grandchildren, and one great grand child. The names of the daughters are: Mrs W. Ratcliffe (Auckland), Mrs A. Morris (Putaruru), T. C. Holly (Whangarei), tand S. D. Holly (Auckland). The sons ; names are Mr James Buckley (Gon- . ville) and Mr Thomas Buckley (Syd- ■ u ey ).
