GENERAL NEWS [ Special “ Chronicle ” Service ] At the conclusion of the Manawatu County Council’s meeting on Tuesday tho chairman (Mr W. E. Barber) said that as the meeting was tho last for the year ho would take the opportunity of wishing the members a very merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year. Councillor H. H. Hunt returned thanks for tho good wishes expressed and on behalf of tho members present reciprocated them. Appreciative reference to the good work done by tho chairman in onneetion with the Shannon bridge was made at the last County Council mooting. It is anticipated that tho bridge will be completed in March next. The following players will represent Sandon Cricket Club against Public Service at- Sanson to-day:—Drew, Edwards, Gibbs, Harris, Goodal], Sadler (2), May, Ellern. Kennedy, Reeve, Jones, Bond, Anderson. Players are requested to he on the ground at 1.45 p.in. sharp.
