WAIMARINO ACCLIMATISATION I SOCIETY. f Special “ Chronicle ” Service ] At a representative meeting of anglers of Ohakune and Raetihi, it was decided to hold an angling contest to compete .for a silver cup presented by Air A. W. Ashwell on the following conditions: — (1) Two competitions, one on the Mangawhero on December 11 and one. on the Wanganui on December .18. (2) Water, Mangawhero from Bartholomew’s train bridge up to the junction of the Toanui stream. Wanganui water to be arranged by committee of Kakahi and Manunui anglers. (3) Bait.—The artificial fly only. (4) Time.—Commence at 10 a.m., finish 9 p.m. by the clock. (5) Weighing stations.—On the Mangawhero. Smith’s Road bridge and main road bridge, Makaranui. On Wanganui, arranged by committee mentioned above. (G) Entries close 5 p.m. Friday, December 9. Competitors must hold Waimarino Acclimatisation Society’s license and produce same on nominating. Competitors may enter for both competitions. (7) Prizes. —Heaviest bag in each competition takes a cash prize. Heaviest bag in two competitions holds Waimarino Acclimatisation Society’s Silver Cup, value £5 5s for one year and has name inscribed by the society. The competition is to be held annually. TENNIS. On Wednesday members of Ruapehu Clubs, which embraces Ohakunc, Ohakune Junction and Raetihi, paid the Taumarunui tennis club a visit. Air O’Brian welcomed the visitors on behalf of the Taumarunui Club and Air Jaques, on behalf of the visitors, thanked the Taumarunui Club for their welcome and trusted flic club would pay Ruapehu a visit in the near future.
