Richard Thomas Douglas Cook, aged 22. pleaded guilty at the Police Court to forgery of a credit note on the Bank of New South Wales for £5449 with the intention that it be acted upon as genuine, also to forging a promissory note for £4O. Evidence was given by a hotel broker that accused introduced himself as a publican from Sydney, saying that he wasted to buy an hotel. He paid a deposit of £5 on an Auckland hotel. Accused was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
