Amery, Secretary of State for the Dominions, arrived at Dunedin to-day and was accorded a civic reception. He will spend to-morrow in Dunedin, and will then proceed to the t. Mr Amery and party spent an hour in Timaru, where the Secretary of State received a civic “welcome,” and ' later delivered an address to senior pu- i pils of the high schools. He expressed regret that he was un- ■ able to spend longer in Timaru. A STOP AT ASHBURTON. ! ASHBURTON, Dec. 1. ■ Mr Amery made a stop of 25 min- ' utes on his way south.
