JUDGE’S OPINION PRISONER’S PLEA REVERSED [ Per Press Association. ] CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 1. Concerning the case of Herbert William Carey who appeared at the Supreme Court to day for sentence on a charge of arson, Mr Justice Adams said that as a result of enquiries which had been made, he was sure Carey was insane at the time of the offence and that his plea should be altered from guilty to not guilty. , If in the meantime Carey is not dealt with by the Minister of Justice, he will appear at the February sessions.
