COMMITTEE TALKS British Unemployed Insurance Bill’s Passage A GUILLOTINE MOTION (By Telegraph—Per Press Assn.— Copyright.) Received Dec. 1. BJO p.m. (A.P.A.-Sun) LONDON, Dec. 1. In the House of Commons, in committee on the Insurance Bill, with the Government’s assent reduced the contributions which disabled ex-servicemen arc required to make before participating in the benefits to ton, compared with ordinary workers’ 30 contributions. Clause live was carried and the debate adjourned. The Government made a surprising move by tabling a guillotine motion, allocating three days for the remainder of the committee stage, a day for report, and a day for the third reading. Mr J. Shaw, on behalf of the Labour Party, tabled an amendment declining assent to the Limita tion of the debate on the Bill which, he said, would deprive thousands of insurance benefits. The House has just finished discussing ■ the fifth clause out •of 14, though six ■days have already [been. spent in committee.
