FINES IMPOSED
A WOMAN IN COURT LIKING FOR LIQUOR LEADS TO LAPSES A liking for liquor is possessed by Helen Al ay Hollier. Yesterday at the Wanganui Magistrate’s Court she was charged with drunkenness, with a breach of her prohibition order, with procuring liquor and with being found on licensed premises. Constable R. Nairn Mated that when accused was being put out of an hotel she was intoxicated and became abusive. Senior-Sergeant C. Lopdell said that Hollier had not been long out of gaol and for the last two years she had been a source of trouble in Wanganui and Palmerston North. Air J. S. Barton, S.M., advised accuse'] to take warning, otherwise she would be sent to a reformative institution for a lengthy period. On the charge of being on licensed promises Hollier was fined £2, in default seven days’ imprisonment, and for procuring liquor a fine of £3 was inflicted, in default seven days’ imprisonment The sentences are to be cumulative. The remaining charges were dismissed.
