SOLDIER TEACHERS

INTERRUPTED STUDIES SPECIAL CERTIFICATES SUGGESTED [ Special “ Chronicle ” Service ] AUCKLAND, Nov. 30. At to-djay’s meeting of the Board of Education the chairman (Mr A. Burns) proposed that representations be made to the Department in favour of the issue of perpetual certificates, to soldier teachers, as a reward for their war services. The chairman said it was beyond question that those men had done their very best to qualify, and it was equally certain that their studies' 4 had been interfered with* by their state of health. The proposal was heartily taken up by members of the Board*, who agreed that although the teachers in question did not hold certificates they were rendering efficient service and the Board agreed to act in accordance with Mr Burns’ proposal.
