BRITAIN AND RUSSIA ME BALDWIN’S STATEMENT (By Radio) RUGBY, Nov. 29. In the House of Commons, the Prime Minister was asked whether Bls speech regarding the renewal of relations with Russia had yet received any response from the Russian Government and, 1 whether he proposed to take any more steps in the matter. Hi replied that the answer to both parts of the question was in the negative. He had not yet had any assurance that the Russian Government had ceased to interfere in British international affairs. Mr Wedgwood asked if in view of the interests of trade could not steps be taken to bring about a desirable arrangement. Mr Baldwin: I foreshadowed the conditions under which we are prepared to consider a resumption of relations. When these are acceded to it will be possible to make progress, but not otherwise. Mr Wedgwood: Would it not be possible to open negotiations in view of the state of our trade! Mr Baldwin: We have not had apy assurance that the Russian Government has ceased to interfere in our internal affairs.
