DOUBLE FATALITY

CHARGE AGAINST MOTORIST ALLEGED RECKLESS DRIVING (Per Press Association.) HAMILTON, Nov. 8. An inquest into the circumstances of the double fatality in which two single men—John Ward and Walter Thornton Reynolds—met their deaths in an accident on the night of October 15 at Hamilton concluded to-day. The Coroner (Mr Wyvern Wilson. S.M.) returned a verdict that deceased died: from injuries sustained in a collision between a motor cycle ridden by them an 4 a car driven by a youth of 19 named Blair, who caused their deaths by driving the car in a manner and at a speed that was reckless and dangerous. Blair was subsequently charged with driving a car in a manner dangerous to the public, thereby causing the deaths of the two men. A remand, was granted until November 15, bail being allowed. Blair, who came from Australia, had only been in the Dominion six weeks when the fatality occurred, and had no driver’s license.
