FRENCH STARS’ VISIT PLAY IN NEW ZEALAND. ARRANGEMENTS BEING MADE. [Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, Nov. 8. Arrangements have been completed for the visit of the French tennis team, Borotra, Brugnon, and Bousus. After playing matches at Wellington the team will come to Auckland and play here, connecting with the Sydney boat leaving New Zealand on January 20. The Australian championship meeting, to meet this arrangement, has ben postponed for one week. Final arrangements for the New Zealand visit will be left in the hands of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association. Mr D. Murray Keen (secretary) has mapped out a scheme which if it can be worked will give the public the best possible chance of seeing the Frenchmen at their best. Possibly the team will play for two days in Wellington and two days in Auckland.

WANGANUI PLAYERS RAUKENG LIST PUBLISHED. LEADING TENNIS EXPONENTS. The Wanganui Lawn Tennis Association has issued the ranking list, giving the order of merit in which the leading tennis players of Wanganui have been placed. The Li ?t is subject to revision from time to time and the selectors would be pleased if players on the list would arrange games amongst themselves and advise the secretary of the result in view of the match against Hawke’s Bay for the Christie Cup on December 3. The Wanganui Club courts will be the venue of the tournament. APPRECIATION EXPRESSED WANGANUI PRESIDENT’S WORK VALUABLE SERVICE RENDERED. Mr G. H. Pownall has tendered his resignation of the presidency of the Wanganui Lawn Tennis Association. At a meeting of the Association last week the following motion was carried:—“That this Association desires to place on record its appreciation of the valuable services rendered by Mr G. H. Pownall in furthering the sport of tennis in Wanganui and district during his long term as a member of the Association, and particularly during the period, he has filled the office of president. ’ ’
