DURIE VALE HOUSE AFIRE LOUNGE PROPRIETOR’S LOSS. Smart work by the City Fire Brigade averted the destruction of a twostoreyed residence, situated at 31 Webb Road, Durie .Vale, on Saturday evening. At 7.45 p.m. the brigade was called to an outbreak at the residence, which was not occupied at the time. The flames were confined, in the main, to the second storey, and damage to the first floor was practically prevented. The house was owned and occupied by Mr John Murray, connected with the management of the Roy ale Willow/ lounge and the Luxor Cabaret. The cause of the fire is unknown.
