BANDSMEN’S ACTIVITIES

MILITARY RECITAL ON SUNDAY. Seating accommodation will doubtless be taxed to its utmost capacity at His Majesty’s Theatre on Sunday evening, when the Garrison Band, assisted by a large number of reed and wood wind instrumentalists, will unite in forming a Military Band, and give a grand recital at the above theatre. A number of selections, especially arranged for a military band, have been kindly lent by Mr E. Derry, of Christchurch, x who is wellknown as the conductor of Derry’s Military Band. In addition, a number of our leading vocalists have kindly consented to assist, and this should result in a musical programme of rare •excellence being given. Municipal Concert. On Sunday afternoon, the Garrison Band, under Conductor T. Gray’s direction, will give a municipal concert at the Recreation Grounds, Wanganui East, commencing at 3 o ’clock.
