RECEIVED STOLEN GOODS YOUNG MARRIED WOMAN’S OFFENCE. (Per Pms Association.! AUCKLAND, Nov. 3. Mr Justice Reed to-day sentenced Ina Beatrice Wills, aged 25, to 12 months’ reformative detention, on a charge of receiving stolen goods, the proceeds of a midnight robbery at Epsom on August 6 . Thomas Herbert Skinner, aged 27, an Australian, who had previously pleaded guilty to charges of breaking, entering;, and theft and attempted break-
ing and entering in connection with the same crime, was sentenced on Monday to 18 months’ reformative detention. His Honour said that the jury had taken a most favourable point of view in deciding that Wills was not a party to the actual breaking and entering, but he was forced to the conclusion that she knew everything that was going on and was a party to the proceedings. He had also to take into serious consideration the perjury which Wills had committed, putting probation out of the question. He would not be doing his duty unless he imposed a period of imprisonment. -
