Labour gains are a feature of the municipal elections in 300 cities and boroughs of England and Wales. Latest returns show 105 Labourite gains and 12 losses, seven Conservative gains and 70 losses, 12 Liberal gains and 33 losses, and 16 Independent gains and 25 losses. The Moderates won five seats from the Labourites in Glasgow.
