ANNUAL MEETING HELD NEW OFFICERS ELECTED The Wanganui Scottish Society’s annual meeting, followed by a dance, was held in the Lyric Hall on Saturday evening. Chief T. Dixon presiding over an attendance of about 80 persons. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follow: —Chieftain, Mr M. Kidd; secretary, Mr G. Young; treasurer, Mr T. Nicholson; committee, Mesdames Weir, Rose, Simpson, and Nicholson, Misses B. Langslow, K. Langslow, Thomson and Vasta and Messrs J. Simpson, F. Begbie, J. Mills, Rose, J. McNeill, W. Miller; auditors, Messrs W. F. Hanton and A. Fyfe; hon. piper, Mr R. Thompson. It. was decided that members be admitted to all committee meetings which are to be held immediately before the monthly social gathering.
