WATER RESTRICTIONS

Sir, —Now that our City Fathers have deemed it necessary to control the supply of water used for gardening purposes, may 1 suggest, Sir, that the restrictions be somewhat modified and that the town area be divided into two sections, or even more. If hoses were allowed to be used on the north side of Victoria Avenue between, say. 5.30 p.ni. and 6.30 p.m. and on the south side between 6.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m., it would meet the position much better than at present, as people in, say, Gonville, cannot get a reasonable flow of water when everybody is using water at the one time. This would also give the insper tors a much better chance of catching wasteful offenders, of whom there are far too many. Trusting my suggestion will meet with the approval of th< Council. RATEPAYER. October 15.
