DARGAVILLE BLAZE
KAURI GUM STORE BUILDING TOTALLY DESTROYED (Per Press Association.) DARGAVILLE, Aug. 15. Early yesterday morning a large twostorey building used as a gum store, one of the largest in the town, was, with its contents, totally destroyed by fire. The building was owned by Warriner and Co., gam merchants. A quantity of kauri gum and valuable machinery were totally destroyed. The building and contents were insured, but the amount is not available. AT TAUMARUNUI DWELLING AND SHOP TAUMABUNUI, Aug. 15. At 3.40 on Sunday morning a fire broke out in the dwelling with a shop attached occupied by Mrs M. Paul and owned by Messrs A. Leese and S .Williams. The brigade made a brilliant save. They confined the damage to the front portion of the building. The slock in the shop —stationery, fruit, and confectionery—was considerably damaged by smoke and water. The building was insured for £675, the contents of the house for £250, and the stock and fittings for £350.
' SUSPICIOUS FIRE REMARKS AT INQUIRY HAMILTON, Aug. 15. The colonial inquiry into the destruction of a four-roomed cottage at Hamilton, owned by Frederick Geo. Sanders, concluded to-day, when the Magistrate found that the house was wilfully fired by some person unknown. While suspicion rested on the owner it went no further.
