COMPETITIONS FESTIVAL VARIETY OF PROGRAMMES With such a splendid variety of high class entries the Wanganui Competitions Society ‘has been forced to extend its season by another day and night. Entries this year total 800 as against 900 last year, but the season will be three days shorter, so that with the exceptional talent offering, the committee will be able to present
very attractive programmes at the evening sessions. In the classes for choruses and choirs, 16 entries have been received including two adult choruses for ladies. The headmaster of the Nelson Park School (Napier), writes stating that the chilidfrcn from his school who will be competing at Wanganui are looking forward eagerly to the visit, and arc training hard. A number of parents will also be making the trip. In previous years, competition for the male choir shield- has been a little disappointing, but this season a good response has been mot with and the rivalry should be keen.
