Jennings, W. McNie, J. Gosnell, W. Nash, W. Jackson and secretary. Advice was received that the box of ova forwarded to Dannevirkc had arrived* there in good order. Mr Moorehouse, of Tokaanu, wrote saying that the collectors were getting plenty of ova, and would like to know the society’s requirements and when they would take delivery.—Ft was resolved to procure 100,000 ova. The secretary’s action in offering to hatch out fry for the Taumarunui Rod and Gun Club was approved. The secretary reported that he had located a good* site for a crossing of the Waitaiki stream at Karioi, to replace the ford now blocked by the Mangawhero Sawing Company’s tram line. —It was proposed to commence the work of the new ford as soon as the Waimarino County Council gave their consent.

The secretary reported that since the regulations in regard to brown trout had been removed, the size of the fish in the Mangawhero stream nad much improved. The hatchery at Karioi which has been running under the supervision of Mr W. Condon, of the Government Atlantic Salmon Hatchery, Te Anau, is proving a great success. For this season it is estimated that there will be 150,000 rainbow fry for distribution, and the society now proposes to make the following allocations: —Wanganui- River, 50,000; Kaitieki stream, 20,000; Mangawhero, 25,000; Wahianoa, 5000; Turakina, 10,000; Orantoha, 20,000; Piopiotea, 10,000; Waitaiki, 5000; Owhango, 5000. On account of the recent snow doing great damage to the pheasantry and the heavy expense to repair same, it was decided to liberate the pheasants on Mr R. L. Gibson’s property, Hukuroa, which is a sanctuary. It was resolved to make application to the Minister of Internal Affairs to have the land at Karioi gazetted as a fish hatchery. It was resolved that application be made to remove all restrictions on the limit of size of brown trout, in all streams throughout the society’s district. During the past season twelve licenses were sold for deerstalking in this district.
