GOLF BAT J, [ Special '* Chronicle ” Service. ] The “Bal Masque” held by the Mangaweka Golf Club, in the Oddfellows’ Hall on Thursday night, to the Etrains of Larkin’s Orchestra was a huge success. The committee for the past two days had been busy making the hall the gayest ever seen in Mangaweka. The stage was also decorated with ferns and ghrubs, and comfortable lounge chairs and heaters made the evening enjoyable to those playing bridge. The supper arrangements were in the hands of Mesdames Waymouth, Pairman. Thompson, Rowley, Watson and Agnew. Messrs H. Johnston, L. A. Bailey and D. Bannell were M.’sC.

Langston, M. Graham. ACCIDENT An accident occurred on the Pouwhakanua Hill, Mangaweka, late on Thursday night when Mr Cameron, driving a car, went over the bank. Mr Cameron was pinned underneath the car for two hours, until his shouts were heard by passers-by. The fact that the car lodged against a. tree saved it from filling another 100 feet. Mr Cameron was attended by Dr. Mitchell from Hunterville and his injuries are not considered serious.
