SOUTH AFRICAN AGREEMENT READJUSTMENT PENDING. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 12. The House met at 2.30. Replying to Sir John Luke, the Minister of Finance (Hon. W. Downie Stewart) said that negotiations wen in progress with the Government oi South Africa, with a view to making the trade agreement between the tw< countries more equitable so far as New Zealand was concerned. On the motion of the Prime Minister the name of Mr J. McCombs (Lyttel ton) was added to tho Industries Committee in place of that of Mr D. O. Sullivan (Avon), who explained that ho was unable to act.
