A NEW THEATRE

FULLERS IN AUCKLAND LATEST IDEAS TO BE EMBODIED (Par Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 8. Sir Benjamin Fuller states that a contract has been signed for £70,000 for the construction of a new theatre at Auckland near the theatre which was recently burnt down. It is hoped to be able to open the new theatre, which is to be called the Opera House, by next Easter. It will scat 2000 people and will embody the latest ideas in theatre construction. The architect, Mr Henry White, has just returned from America, and the data he has collected will make the Opera House the most modern theatre in Australia and New Zealand*.
