WANGANUI GARRISON BAND’S EFFORT The Wanganui Garrison Band is preparing to assist the unemployment fund - *, and with that object in view, a concert is to be given at His Majesty’s Theatre on Sunday night next. A number of first class artists will assist and the concert, apart from the object, promises to be one of the most enjoyable ever given in Wanganui. A new feature will be the introduction of community singing, four favourite hymns having been set down in the programme. It is hoped to secure the assistance also of the Paramount and His Majesty’s combined orchestras in the massed effort. The effect should be most- inspiring. The main object is to raise a largo sum of money by voluntary effort, and though admittance will be by silver coin, it is fully anticipated* "that, not only will the theatre be crowded in every part, but that no coin h r than a shilling will be found.
