Mr H. Dustin, well-known in city athletic affairs entered a hospital on Saturday to undergo an operation for appendicitis.
Mr S. G. Ward, late of the Invercargill branch of Electrolux, Ltd., is to take over the managership of the Wanganui branch of the firm.

Tho Wanganui City Council last evening deci-dad* to recognise the services rendered by Mr Louis Cohen in connection with the*Sarjeant Gallery, by appointing him honorary d-ircctor.

There passed away on Saturday at Palmerston North, Mrs Mary Ann Hansen, aged 57 years. Deceased was a daughter of the late Mr John Row, a one-time well-known Longburn resident. In addition to her husband, tho late Mrs Hansen leaves a son, two sisters (Mrs R. At. Matheson, late of Rongotea, and Mrs C. H. Judd, of Auckland), and five brothers (Messrs J. Row, Hutt, F. J. Row, Wanganui, Edward Row, Manaia, David Row, Queensland, and H. M. Row, Hamilton) to mourn their loss.
The funeral of Archdeacon Devoy, who died last Friday, at the age of 84, took place at Wellington yesterday morning. Requiem Mass was celebrated by Archbishop O ’Shea, Monsignor McKenna assisting. Tho musical part of tho ceremony was carried out by St. Patrick’s choir. An eloquent funeral oration was delivered by Archbishop Redwood. Archdeacon Devoy was born in 1843 in Queen’s County, Ireland, in the diocese of Kildare and Leighton, and was educated at St. Mary’s College, Dundalk. He completed his theological studies at Bolley, France, and was ordained priest in 1877. He was a professor at St. Mary’s College, Dundalk, until 1879, when he sailed for New Zealand in company with the late Very Rev. Dean Grogan, of Napier. He was stationed successively at Christchurch. Kumara, Timaru and Wellington. His relatives in New Zealand are tho Rev. Father Mark Devoy, a nephew, who had been associated with the archdeacon for the past 11 years, Mr J. Dwyer, of Wellington, and Mrs Leader, of Wairarapa.
