A FAVOURABLE BALANCE GREATER EXPORTS— REDUCED IMPORTS [ Special ” Chronicle ’■ Service. ] WELLINGTON, June 13. Returns of tho Dominion’s overseas trade for May, with figures for tho five months of the year to the end of May, were made available to-day. Imports, when compared, with those of last year, were valued at £290,369 more, but exports showed the very satisfactory increase of £1,153,231, giving a balance of exports over imports of £1,487,733, compared with £624,871 for the same month last year. The figures for the five months are equally interesting. Imports this year were less than those of 1926 by £2,437,734, while exports were greater by £1,438,982. These figures give an export balance this year of £8,376,754, compared with £4,500,038 for the same period last year, an increase of £3,876,716. Detailed figures are as follows: May Returns
