INTO THE DITCH

CAR’S SOMERSAULT THREE OCCUPANTS IN HOSPITAL, (Per Press Association.) GISBORNE, June 3. While motoring on the Matawhero road this afternoon, a car driven by 1 rank Button, with four occupants, shot across the road into a deep ditch on the side and somersaulted. Button was badly cut about the arms and head. Ono passenger named Tolley, a member of the crew of the schooner Koutunui, had severe cute on the arm and lost a lot of blood, and Arthur Rush, a watersider, is suffering from cuts and bruises. These three were admitted to hospital, and the other two occupants offered minor injuries. An unusual feature is that just an hour previously two cars came into collision at almost tho same spot. The cars were damaged but tho occupant* were not seriously hurt.
