j MARKETING IN ENGLAND. I The marketing of New Zealand produce in England has coucorned the .Canterbury A. and P. Association I lately, and recently a letter was sent to the Prime Minister asking whether the numerous allegations as to the difficulty in obtaining New Zealand produce of good quality in English retail shops is justified, and, if so, whether he w r ould take the matter up with the New Zealand Produce Control Boards and the Empire Marketing Board with a view to ascertaining how the identity of New Zealand meat, butter, and cheese in the retail shops can be maintained and how the consumers in England can best be informed as to the value and quality of New Zealand products. A reply from the Prime Minister has been received as follows:—“ I am in receipt of your letter, in which you write me on behalf of the Canterbury A. and P. Association in rference to the marIketing of New Zealand produce in ■ Great Britain. I might say that my enquiries and observations during my rcjeent visit to the Old Country have eon•vinced me that some action is necessary Ito place matters in this respect on a bettor footing. The Government is alive to the importance of the. question (and the whole subject is receiving the i careful attention of the High CommisI sioner, in conjunction with the Empire ;Marketing Board, and the representatives of Produce Export Boards. ’ ’
