MUNICIPAL PICTURES Bebe Daniels’ comedy success, “Stranded in Paris,” which scored such an immediate success last night, shows again to-day and to-night at the Opera House. As a sales girl in an American department store, and as a model for a Parisian modiste, Miss Daniels wears the very latest afternoon and evening creations. The costumes were designed by Howard Greer, famous fashion creator. “Stranded in Paris” is a story of an American shop-girl who. on winning a free ticket to the French capital arrives there penniless and without a friend. How, through an innocent error, she finds herself mistaken for a famous Countess and how, after a series of breath-taking episodes, she manages to return to the United States, goes to make one of the breeziest smile-a-se-cond comedies, Paramount’s star has ever appeared in. “Beau Geste” Famous Novel Picturised ‘‘Beau Geste.” P. C. Wren's romance of the Sahara which created such a sensation when it appeared on the bookstalls has been produced by Paramount into one of the biggest films in motion picture history, and there is not the slightest doubt that the picture has created even a greater sensation than the book. The picture will play a season of five nights at the Municipal pictures next Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Friday and again on the following Monday. Mr Albert Petri late of the Queen’s Hall and Gaiety Theatre London will appear in the prologue and will feature special songs of the French Foreign Legion. “Beau Geste” is a story of three brothers whose love for one another proves stronger that the fear of death. Ronald Coleman plays the part of Beau Geste, and Neill Hamilton and Ralph Forbes are the other two brothers. Other well-known names —Alice Joyce, Mary Brian, Noah Beery, Victor McLaglen. Norman Trevor, and William Powell, are also jn the cast. A box plan for the entire season is now open at H. I. Jones and Son’s.
